The Fabulous Wendi Meece
Bio Hello everyone! My name is Wendi, and I have been modeling for the past 5 years. And let me tell you, there is nowhere else Id rather be than in front of the camera. However, I actually started off by doing beauty pageants, and not modeling. These pageants consisted of many different rounds, one of which was Most Photogenic. Since I was new to the whole thing, I would ask some of the girls where they got their pictures done. This started up conversations about different professional photographers and modeling. Well, I eventually moved to Florida and submitted my pictures to as many web sites, photographers and agencies as possible, and I was overwhelmed by the response that I received! Since my modeling career began, I have been extremely fortunate to be published so many times. Believe it or not, I've accomplished almost all of my modeling goals just this year! I've been in commercials, in magazines, on the cover of magazines, in calendars, and on the cover of calendars, I've won bikini contests, I'm listed on more than 40 Internet sites, and just shot for a billboard! However, I'll never feel that I'm finished with modeling, and would even like to try getting involved with acting. Im even moving out to L.A. in February in hopes of increasing my chances of making it big! Modeling has actually become a lifestyle for me now, and its one that I couldnt be happier with! Even though I've thoroughly enjoyed modeling for the past 5 years, it has definitely been a learning experience for me also. I guess there are a few things that stand out more than others though. First of all, ALWAYS bring someone that you trust with you to a job or shoot, especially if youre just starting out or are really young. As long as that person is responsible for his/her own expenses (and doesnt interfere with the shoot), no one should have a problem with it. Second of all, research the person/people/company that you will be working for. There are a lot of crazy people out there, and youre better safe than sorry. Also, you have to have fun and be open to new ideas (within reason!). I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to tell a photographer that I felt like I looked stupid, but then the pictures end up being some of the best ones I've ever had done! Another important thing to remember is that if you say youre going to call someone back, call them back! Its better to tell someone no than it is to not tell them anything at all. Also, if you say youre going to be somewhere at 5:00 pm, give yourself
some just in case time, and plan on getting there at 4:00-4:30 pm. Photographers
hate to be left hanging because it wastes their time that could be used
working with someone else. And last but not least, it pays to give 100%
at a job. You never know who the person you're working with might have
hook-ups with, and in the modeling world, word of mouth can make you or
break you. |
